The Problem With Choices

by The Internet

An old rancher by the name of Henry Tucker died… and went straight to Hell.

When he got there, he was received by the head guy, the Director/Angel of Hell.

“Welcome to Hell.” The Director/Angel said to Henry. “We’re glad you’re here and we’re going to do our best to make Hell as comfortable for you as possible.”

Confused, Henry Tucker said, “Well… That’s good to know.”

The Director/Angel patted him on the back, “Go on down to Department A and tell them you’re here.”

Henry went there and met another angel.

“Welcome to Hell.” The angel smiled. “You’re here so you can choose the way you are going to be punished.”

The Angel took Henry’s arm and started walking, “So, let’s go find a place that suits you.”

The Angel took him to the first room. There – Henry saw people being picked apart and eaten by little sand crabs.

“Oooooh, no,” Henry flinched. “I don’t think being eaten is for me.”

“Well,” The Angel looked at Henry sideways. “You do know this is Hell – Right?”

Henry nodded, but didn’t say a word.

So, the Angel took him to the second room. There – the people were being fried in hot oil.

Henry jumped back screaming, “No way. I just can’t fry for eternity.”

The angel frowned, then scrutinized him for a moment before asking, “Son, where do you come from?”

Without thinking, Henry puffed up. “Well, I’m from Texas.”

“OH. You need room number 422.” The Angel said. “That’s where most Texans choose to go.”

When Henry got there, he saw people standing waist deep in cow shit and drinking whiskey.

“This isn’t so bad.” Henry’s eyes narrowed. He looked around, then said. “I’d like to choose this place.”

“That’s great.” The Angel swatted him on the back. “Jump on it.”

So Henry did and, he started drinking whiskey.

Ten minutes later the angel guard of the room smiled and said, “OK, your break is over. Everybody turn upside down.”

Yes… It’s a Classic!
