This Is The Best Onion Pie Ever!
Your Family (Especially Your Husband) Will Love This!
3 large yellow Onions, thinly sliced
1 Granny Smith Apple, peeled, cored and diced
12 slices of Bacon, cooked and crumbled
4 tbs. of Butter
2 teaspoons of Olive Oil
1 cup of Half and Half
1/8 teaspoon of Nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon of pepper
3 oz. of Swiss Cheese, grated
1 Pie Crust
Prepare and partially bake a crust in a 9 inch pie pan. (I bake mine about 7 minutes.)
Salute onions, apples and nutmeg in oil and butter over low heat until golden yellow.
Beat eggs, half and half, salt, pepper together.
Add 1/2 of the Swiss Cheese to the onion mixture.
Pour into crust.
Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
Bake for 25-30 minutes at 375 degrees.
While pie is cooking, chopped parsley and cook bacon. Crumb bacon.
When pie is cooked, garnish with parsley and bacon.
