Jalapeno, Cheese and Bacon Biscuits

One Fabulously Delicious Recipe!

Ingredients

4 cups of flour

6 teaspoons full of baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

2 tablespoons of sugar

1/2 cup of shortening

2 tablespoons of butter

2 cups of buttermilk

15 strips of thick bacon, cooked and chopped into small bits

2 cup of cheddar cheese

4 tablespoons of chopped jalapeno 

 

Shift flour and dry ingredients in mixing bowl, add shortening, butter and buttermilk. Mix. Add bacon, cheese and jalapenos. Mix.

Work with hands on lightly floured board. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter.

Oven temperature 400 

Bake until brown (about 10 to 20 minutes) depending upon size.

 

Makes about 20 man-sized biscuits!

those look and sound delish and I will be trying this soon… the Sweetwater world reknown RATTLESNAKE ROUNDUP is the 13-15th at the coliseum .. we are in the cook off … I may be cooking some of these ahead of time to feed all the buzzards that come to lurk at our tables of food !!
