A favorite family recipe. These blondies are heavenly. They are the best Praline Blondies ever!
2 cup butter
4 cups brown sugar
2 T. vanilla extract
2 tsp. baking powder
4 cups all-purpose flour
For Praline Icing:
¾ cup butter
1 ½ cup brown sugar
½ cup heavy cream
3 cups powdered sugar
1 ½ cup pecans – chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Use cooking spray on 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Set aside.
Blondies – In a medium/large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Mix in brown sugar. Mix well. Remove from heat. Let cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
After it is cooled, whisk in eggs and vanilla. (Don’t do this too soon. You don’t want to cook the eggs.) Add baking powder and flour. Mix.
Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for approximately 20 – 24 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Cool completely before adding icing.
Clean saucepan and return to stove. Melt butter. Add brown sugar, bring to a boil over medium heat.
Once it is boiling, stir constantly for two minutes so the sugar melts.
Add heavy cream and bring back to a boil. Immediately remove from heat and cool for approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
Once slightly cooled, add in powdered sugar. Mix. Add pecans. Mix. Immediately spread praline icing over blondies.
Refrigerate for one hour before cutting into bars.
