Situation: It’s nighttime. The kids are all tucked in bed. Suddenly, I hear a cry of distress coming out of Cindy Sue’s room. I rush in. Tears are rolling down her face.
Cindy Sue, age 9: “There’s a mouse under my bed.”
Me: “Are you sure?”
Cindy Sue: “Yes, I can hear the cat crunching its bones.”
Yikes!
(She was right! The cat was enjoying a tasty mouse ~ under her bed!)
