“When Parents Speak In Code”

When A Child Says Something Brilliant and Magnificent…

I Call It, “The Quote of the Day”

Enjoy!

Situation: It was the end of the day. Barrett was tired and close to tears. But we had promised a crab catching expedition. So, while talking to PopE, I used the secret “spell-it-out” code of parents (and grandparents) everywhere.

Me: “Ahhh… PopE, we need to go, if we’re going to go, because someone is T-I-R-E-D and getting C-R-A-B-B-Y.”

Barrett: “Grandma, are you spelling out cuss words because PopE doesn’t allow you to say them?”
