Greed… Sometimes It Bites!

by The Internet

A young cowboy decided he wanted to earn some extra money. When he couldn’t find a job on a ranch, he decided to go to the city and hire himself out as a “handyman” for the summer.

His Dad tried to talk him out of it saying, “Son, I don’t think you should go. Them city folk can be down right peculiar.”

But, the determined young cowboy would have none of it.

The very next day, he drove to a well-to-do neighborhood. Got out of his truck and walked up to the front door of the first mega-mansion on the block. Rang the doorbell and asked the owner if he had any odd jobs he needed done.

“Well yes. The porch needs repainting,” the city slicker said. “How much will you charge?”

The cowboy pulled off his hat and scratched his head. After a moment, he said, “How about $150.00?”

The city slicker shot him a sly grin. “Sounds reasonable. The paint, brushes and anything else you need are in the garage.”

After the city slicker shut the door, his wife pulled him aside. “One hundred and fifty dollars, that’s way too low. Does he realize that our porch goes ALL the way around the house?”

“If he doesn’t, I point it out when he comes to get paid.” the city slicker said with a laugh. “Besides, he set the price. Not me.”

“Well, that’s true.” The wife and the city slicker chuckled and walked away.

A few hours later the cowboy came to the door to collect his money.

“You’re finished with the porch already?”

“Yes Sir,” the cowboy replied, “I even had paint left over so I gave it two coats.”

The city slicker stared hard at the cowboy. “You painted all four sides, right?”

“Sure did.” The cowboy pushed back his hat and smiled. “Did a good job too.”

Impressed, the city slicker reached into his pocket, pulled out a $150.00 along with another $10.00 as a tip.

“Thank you,” the cowboy tipped his hat,”And, by the way, it’s not a Porch, it’s an Audi.”

Yep… It’s another Classic
