Lynne Urbel – A Collector of Mexican Folk Art!

by Karen Ekstrom

I had a conversation recently, about style and how I wanted one. A style. Something fabulous and unique. Something that set me apart from others. Something that left people breathless and filled with longing and envy. But, I needed it to also say, I’m fun and cool, and you want to be my friend.

That’s when Lynne Urbel’s name came up.

So I called her. Invited myself over.

I had to see her house.

I walked in the front door and started to drool.

Mexican Folk Art, colorful and humorous, splashed across the walls and windows, shelves and tables. Each one had a story. A time and date. A town. The name of the artist that made it. Even pictures of their homes and families.

Lynne walked around, pointing and talking. Touching. Showing me this little treasure here, and that little treasure there. Her face bright. Her heart full.

Lynne’s house smiles. It reflects a lifetime of memories collecting art. Mexican Folk Art, made personal and meaningful.

Love this. Have been going to MX for years & have seen so many of these things – just never brought back much…this is beautiful.
