The Garden of Eden was a tranquil and peaceful place for the young couple, Adam and Eve. Perfect, until one unfortunate day when Adam showed up two hours late for dinner… Again…
By the time Adam finally walked through the door, Eve was mad, and a nervous wreck, and her imagination was working overtime.
“Honey, what happened? Why are you home so late?”
“I’m sorry!” Adam responded with a wave of his hand. “I just lost track of the time.”
“Oh really,” Eve’s eyes narrowed. “Exactly what, pray tell, caused you to lose all track of time this time.”
“Now Honey,” Adam blew himself up to his full height. “Don’t take that tone with me. I haven’t been doing anything you need to concern your pretty little head about. Besides, we both know you are just working yourself up for no reason.”
Then, he went on for a while longer, trying to convince her that she just had an over active imagination. But, Eve wasn’t believing a word of it.
Finally, later on that night ~ After spending two hours restlessly turning and tossing in her bed, she decided she’d had enough. She crawled on top of Adam and started searching for the truth.
“WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING!” Hollered Adam jumping out of bed.
“YOU KNOW DARN WELL WHAT I’M DOING” Screamed Eve right back, “NOW YOU BETTER LAY STILL AND LET ME FINISH COUNTING THOSE RIBS!
