Death by Chocolate Cake

Chocolate lovers unite! This recipe is decadent. If you die after eating it, you will die happy knowing you have eaten the world’s most decadent, delicious, chocolate cake ever!

Death by Chocolate Cake

Cake Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1-1/2 cups sugar

2/3 cup cocoa

1 -1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. salt

1-1/2 cups buttermilk

½ cup Crisco (melted)

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla 

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Shift flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt together.

Add buttermilk. Mix. Add melted Crisco, eggs and vanilla. Mix together. Scraping sides of bowl. Pour into two greased and floured cake pans. Bake approximately 20 minutes or until done.

Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter (softened)

4 cups powdered sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. B & B Liqueur (Or any liqueur, whiskey or orange extract)

5 tablespoons of milk or cream 

Directions:

In an electric mixer, combine butter and half the sugar. Blend together. Add vanilla, B&B Liqueur and half of the milk/cream. Add rest of sugar and milk/cream. Mix until rich and creamy.

 

Chocolate (Dribble) Frosting

(Dribble over the cake and on service plate – so it presents beautifully!)

Ingredients:

6 oz. package of chocolate chips

¼ cup whole milk

¼ cup butter

2 ½ cups powdered sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions:

Microwave milk, butter and chocolate chips for 45 seconds. Stir. Melt for another 30 seconds or until all ingredients are melted. Stir until smooth. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Beat until creamy and smooth.
