Chandler Burr Cooks!

Crock pot meals are my favorite type of meal to make because it’s a safe way to make delicious meals without having to supervise the cooking. You can leave the house then come home hours later and dinner is almost ready to be put on the table! The wonderful smell throughout your house is just an added benefit!

Crock-pot Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork Sandwiches

3-4 lbs. pork loin
12 oz. Dr. Pepper (any soda works, I just like the DP flavor)
Whole bottle of BBQ sauce
Pork rub ( I used BBQ dry rub)

Prepare pork by rubbing the spice all over, on all sides

Place pork in crock-pot and pour in the soda. I used approximately 14 ounces. Pour in half of the BBQ sauce, covering the pork and into the soda. Turn on high heat for 3 hours.

After 3 hours, turn the crock pot down to low heat, add a little bit more sauce and cut the loin into fourths (This gets the meat really juicy and tender) If you will not be home to turn down the pot just leave the pot on low heat and extend the cooking time from 8 hours total to 10 hours total.

After a total of 8 hours in the crock pot take the pork out and shred with a fork. Place pork back in pot for 30 more minutes.

Serve on hamburger buns and enjoy!

As side dishes I heated up some beans on the stove (directions are on the can) and steamed some corn in the microwave.

Place ears of corn on microwave safe plate (with the husks still attached) and heat for 5 minutes per ear.
